This might be a controversial opinion, but I feel most attractive immediately after a good cry. Flushed cheeks, glossy eyelids, rosy lips and somehow clearer skin---seriously, what’s not to love? (The actual crying part, if that’s not your thing, I guess.) There isn’t a mood board in the world that can capture a tragic, romantic, Virgin Suicides-y look like an IRL cry can.
That being said, if you can’t cry on command, you can---and should---replicate the look using just a few beauty products. Browse the gallery below for some cry face inspo (for actual crying inspo, this list should do the trick) and the products needed to look like, sad and angelic.
Lips For post-cry lips, you need to find your perfect MLBB (my lips but better) to emulate the beautiful shade that occurs when blood rushes to your pout. Something not too matte and not too glossy, this shade should just deepen the natural colour of your lips. As for application, dab the lipstick in the centre of your lips and use your finger to spread it outward, like you would a balm. When you get to the edges, feel free to not colour totally within the lines. A bit of smudging will actually add to the look, and you’ll get a solid stain that’ll last all day.
