Paris Fashion Week has come to an end, also marking the culmination of fashion month. The grand finale of the spring 2018 shows did not disappoint, particularly in terms of beauty, with some of our fave European fashion houses giving us some of the best hair and makeup looks to eagerly anticipate next year.

Below, check out six standout beauty moments from the spring 2018 shows in Paris.

Chanel

Exaggerated makeup was the beauty look at Chanel with Tom Pecheux applying bright blue eyeshadow all the way up to the brow bone and out to the temples. It was further accented with bright blush and a glossy red-orange lip. But perhaps the most interesting beauty moment was the hair, with Sam McKnight using an actual vacuum cleaner to suck the models’ ponytails into a small perplex tube. Oy.

Margiela

Margiela’s spring 2018 theme was travel, so it was fitting the beauty look was a nod to flights and flying. Makeup-wise, Pat McGrath created a "flocked lip" which consisted of a bright fuchsia shade (her MatteTrance Lipstick shade in “Full Panic”) with a negative space in the centre of the lip. She left the rest of the face clean and fresh with "hyper-real" or "Margiela skin,” which she says was inspired by “rejuvenated, oxygenated beauty.” Hairstylist Eugene Souleiman also stuck to the flight theme, adding actual feathers to the models’ hair.

Valentino

Pat McGrath created the pink makeup look of our dreams for Valentino’s spring 2018 show. Pink pigment was dusted along models’ cheekbones all the way up to the lids, brow bones and temples, while some iridescent highlighter was applied to the inner corner of the eyes. The rest of the skin was clean and glowy, while the lips were painted with a nude gloss.

Dries Van Noten

Rhinestones were the highlight of Dries Van Noten’s spring 2018 show, with makeup artist Peter Philips placing Swarovski crystals on the models’ lips and around their eyes, in lieu of lipstick or eyeliner. Meanwhile, Sam McKnight used the crystals to decorate the models’ hair parts. It was a decidedly simple look that made a big statement.

Rochas

Makeup artist Lucia Pieroni created a graphic liner look for Rochas’ spring 2018 show using Clé de Peau Beauté liquid eyeliner.

Miu Miu

Pat McGrath’s take on the graphic eye look consisted of heavy black liner on the outer corners of models’ eyes at Miu Miu.
