Cheryl Hickey’s new beauty line makes a case for using the same skin care products as your boyfriend

When she’s not interviewing celebs, ET Canada host Cheryl Hickey is busy working on OURS, a natural skin and hair care line that’s free of harmful chemicals and toxins. Available at Rexall stores across Canada, the wallet-friendly line consists of products that are suitable for everyone (literally). Rather than buying different products for everyone in the family, OURS is made up of eight products, from conditioner to moisturizer, that are suitable for babies, men and women. The entire line is free of parabens, formaldehyde, allergens, animal products, and everything else you probably don’t want on your skin.

“We’ve been working on OURS for over two years,” explains Hickey. “The inspiration comes from wanting to do better for my family. I know organic products can be expensive and the ingredient list can be hard to navigate, so I wanted to create something accessible and wallet-friendly. I wanted a product that was honest, safe, healthy and made locally—and that worked!”

Hickey’s definitely not new to the organic hair and skin care game. “[Before having kids], I would always try new creams, then go back to basics and use coconut oil for my hair, face and body. My mom always did this, and it stuck with me. When I started my family and had my own children, I felt great pressure to get it right, so I went back to the basics again.”

“We understand that life gets busy and we shouldn’t have to stress over what we shower and bathe with,” she continues. “Every product in the line is multipurpose; the conditioner is a 2-1 and the Head to Toe Wash is a multi-tasker. Both are capable of treating your baby’s soft locks, as well as your teenager’s colour-treated hair. The 3-1 cleansing oil can lather legs as well as a man’s beard for shaving, and is even gentle enough for your kids’ delicate spots.”

Of course, we had to know if Hickey had a favourite. “Oh, you are making me pick between my babies! I can’t live without the Anything Balm. It is the ultimate multi-tasker! You may need two tins—one in the purse, and one in the diaper bag.”

2-in-1 Conditioner
