Luxury beauty products have become modern status symbols. They don’t just promise performance, they signal taste and insider discernment. Premium haircare, with its salon-grade formulas and indulgent sensory appeal, represents more than grooming. It’s an elevated self-care ritual.
But for decades, curly hair types (especially tightly-wound kinks and coils) have been sidelined in the luxury market. While straight strands dominated glossy campaigns and boutique shelves, curls were pushed to drugstore aisles or niche labels. And when textured hair was acknowledged, it was often framed as something to fix. As someone with thick coils, the message felt clear: real luxury wasn’t made for hair like mine.

Progress has been slow. I could usually find a shampoo and conditioner that worked—but stylers rarely delivered for my afro-textured hair, even when marketed “for all curl types.” It made me question whether brands were testing on strands like mine at all.
So when I heard that Oribe had relaunched its Eternal Curls collection (formerly Moisture & Control), I was thrilled. The move feels like a new era for mainstream beauty. The idea of having multiple of Oribe’s chic essentials in my curl-care routine (products I can actually use and rely on) is not just exciting, but empowering.
The jewel-toned range includes a shampoo, a conditioner, a cleansing cream, a deep treatment, a leave-in, multiple stylers (such as a curl cream, gelée, gloss, mousse, butter and blow-out cream) and a finishing oil that doubles as a pre-wash treatment, all infused with Oribe’s signature Côte d’Azur fragrance.

To help develop the formulas, Oribe leaned on celebrity hairstylist and textured hair educator Stacey Ciceron. An Oribe ambassador for eight years, her relationship with the brand goes back even further.
“Entering into the celebrity world and runway world, it was always important to have top-tier products in your styling kit. I had one Oribe product as a prop in my kit, even though it wasn’t something I could necessarily use. That just goes to tell you that I wanted to be part of the brand,” Ciceron shared with me at the Canadian launch in Toronto. So when the opportunity came to collaborate, she jumped all in. “It was a selfish ‘heck ya’ for me, because I could finally have a collection that I could bring to set and behind my chair and use,” she recalled.

With Eternal Curls, Oribe set out to be inclusive of all curl types—a promise that called for expanding the lineup beyond its original offerings. The collection has grown from 11 to 12 products, rounding out the range to better support textures from loose waves to tightly coiled strands. The latest addition, the Polish & Protect Oil, seals, smooths and delivers luminous definition—all without weighing curls down.
“When I think of inclusivity, I think about not leaving anybody out. Curls deserve an everyday, high-level experience. With this range, you can feel good about having a choice in the luxury space.”
Inclusivity also extends to how the collection is presented. On Oribe’s website, Eternal Curls is broken down by curl pattern (wavy, curly and coily) as well as protective styles, which are popular among those with tightly coiled hair. Protective styles help tuck strands away from the elements to encourage growth and moisture retention.
“If we’re going to talk about curls, we have to talk about them in all forms,” Ciceron said. “A large portion of the textured hair community experiments with protective styles, which are really haircare-based. It’s an important conversation that’s often left out.”
After meeting Ciceron, I was sent home with my own regimen: Moisturizing Shampoo, Intense Conditioner, Styling Butter, Curl Gelée and Polish & Protect Oil. I couldn’t wait for wash day.

In the shower, the shampoo felt plush and frothy, and as soon as it touched my hair, Oribe’s signature Côte d’Azur scent (a luminous blend of citrus, jasmine and sandalwood) unfolded in the steam as I followed with the intense conditioner, working it through my mid-lengths and ends.
After rinsing, my hair felt noticeably moisturized and soft.
Curly hair is versatile, but trying new products can lead to endless trial and error. Ciceron recommends keeping your routine to a maximum of six products. Prep (shampoo, conditioner, mask), stylers and a finishing oil—and sticking with it for three to six months.
“You have to have a North Star,” she said. “Some type of vision for your hair.” That means understanding your curl pattern, its needs and your desired result.
My goal? Ultimate definition. I reached for the Gelée, raking it through small, damp sections. Though thick in texture, it dried weightless. Ciceron advises letting curls dry before manipulating them, so I diffused until mostly dry before finishing with the Polish & Protect Oil. The Gelée offers built-in heat protection, a bonus.

The oil wasn’t heavy, absorbed quickly and added extra lustre and softness. Tight curls and coils are prone to dryness because natural scalp oils struggle to travel down the hair shaft. “You need to apply oils that mimic your own to bring strength back to the hair,” Ciceron explained. “This one is a great supplement for that.”
My hair was left smelling incredible—expensive, even—like I’d stepped out of a luxury salon. More importantly, it looked the part: glossy, soft and defined. As a busy mom of three, this regimen feels like a small luxury escape in the chaos. And yes, the glossy teal bottles are total eye candy.
Oribe’s Eternal Curls collection delivers thoughtful, authentic care for textured hair—honouring curls’ unique needs with true luxury performance, not trend-driven half measures.
