Must-have fall fragrances: The new additions making it to our top shelf this season

We’ve said our farewells to summer, and now doing our hellos for the fall. The weather is getting cooler but you can turn up the heat with some hot fragrances. Not only do these scents smell fantastic but they’re also newly released! Read: bragging rights.

Clean scents with warmth are welcomed. They should be assertive but not assault our nostrils. A lingering finish with some delicate floral notes is the perfect balance in helping us carry some sunshine into the chillier days.

We recommend three fragrances that will help put a spring in your step even when you’re deep in chunky knits and cable sweaters.

Recommended: For the free willed, adventure seekers

Launched earlier this year, Carven Le Parfum, was created to celebrate Guillaume Henry, the artistic director who breathed life back into the House of Carven.

Grace your skin with this charming scent created by renowned Perfumer Francis Kurkdjian; it boasts a bright Mandarin Orange greeting, a floral bouquet blend of Jasmine and Ylang Ylang and finishing undertones of harmonious wood.

A spritz of Carven and you’ll bring the serenity of peace and charming personality of the great outdoors with you wherever you are.

It can be hard to get your hands on every City Exclusive scent, but we’ve lucked out. If you’re in Toronto, 6 By Gee Beauty has the exclusive on two scents that aren’t available anywhere else in Canada: Limette 37 from San Francisco and Cuir 28 from Dubai. (And be sure to check out the rest of the collection while you’re there!)

Both fragrances are available until October 15th, 2013.

Wear Limette 37 in the day time; it is fall-fair ready as it boasts warming notes of jasmine and petit grain. The scent tapers off with earthy tonka beans and musks. Stand out of the nighttime crowd with Cuir 28; it provides a more exotic and wild flair with spicy animatic tar, vanilla absolute and leather.

Roses de Chloe Fragrance

Roses de Chloé

Recommended: For the cozy romantic

Blushing with the tenderness of roses, Chloé’s new scent is the embodiment for those who want a fragrance laced with floral notes, an air of freshness and femininity. Created by master perfumer Michel Almairac in collaboration with Mylene Alran, Roses de Chloé’s personality includes Damascena Rose Essence, bergamot and magnolia. With a finishing scent of white musk and amber, the rose hued elixir is the perfect thing to wear to welcome the fall.

Coupled with the launch of the elegant new fragrance from Chloé is their stunning interpretative dance film, which celebrates the beauty of the rose. Directed by French choreographers, I Could Never Be a Dancer, “Blowing Roses” reveals a multitude of ballet dancers that flow like petals in the wind; it is a stunning sight to behold.
