The only day more exciting than the first Monday in May, is the first Tuesday in May, when we can reflect upon and do a full deep-dive into our favourite Met Gala looks. And of course, while we’re discussing the “Fashion is Art” theme (which celebs nailed the theme and which ones maybe...didn’t get the memo?) we couldn’t leave out the memorable beauty looks of the evening.

Below, we’ve rounded up our favourite beauty moments from the 2026 Met Gala, and the exact hair, skin and makeup products used for each one—straight from the pros.

Kim Kardashian

With hair and makeup led by A-list glam team Chris Appleton and Mario Dedivanovic, it’s no surprise that Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala look delivered. “I wanted Kim’s makeup to feel like an extension of the look itself,” says Dedivanovic. “Allen Jones created something that blurs the line between fashion and three dimensional art, so I leaned into that fully. I collaborated with Nadia Lee Cohen and the team to create a soft contrast and a lived-in look with muted, neutral tones that almost resembled the appearance of a mannequin.”

Naturally, Kim’s makeup was all Makeup by Mario, including the original, nothing-else-like-it Master Mattes Eyeshadow Palette.

Rihanna

What’s a Met Gala roundup without Rihanna? The star wore Fenty Beauty, of course, including the not-yet-released Sun Stalk’r Souffle Pressed Mousse Cream Bronzer (coming soon!!). For her hair, Yusef turned to Jennifer Behr to create custom metal pin curls complete with Swarovski crystals in champagne and black diamond for an industrial look.

Hudson Williams

Men’s grooming, hair and makeup artist Aika Danica Flores worked on Hudson Williams’ Black Swan-inspired makeup last night, writing of her inspo for the look: “A study in transformation: where innocence fractures and grace darkens, the white swan shedding softness to emerge as something sharper, untouchable, and entirely reborn.”

Flores used Chanel Beauty skin and makeup products for the jaw-dropping look, like the Bleu de Chanel 3-in1 Moisturizer and Stylo Yeux Waterproof in multiple shades.

Cher

We love a Cher red carpet moment and last night’s was certainly no exception. Makeup artist Francesca Tolot created Cher’s luminous look using Charlotte Tilbury products, like the Magic Serum Crystal Elixir and Super Nudes Easy Eye Palette, plus the not-yet-launched Exagger-Eyes Easy Eyeshadow Stick in ‘Chestnut Sculpt.’ The eyeshadow sticks come out at the end of the month, but in celebration of the Met Gala, they are available now—ahead of the launch for a limited 72-hour window—exclusively on the Charlotte Tilbury app until May 7th. Happy shopping!

Misty Copeland

Makeup artist Mali Boykin used “Merit everything” for Misty Copeland’s luminous look. Featuring some of our faves from the brand, like Flush Balm in Lusitano, Signature Lip Blush in Archival, and Solo Shadow in the shades Vachetta, Midcentury and Glacé. "[The brand’s] approach to skin gave me exactly what I needed to create freshness, while still allowing room for warmth, shape and sculpting,” says Boykin. “For the look, I really wanted to honour the beauty of brown – [its] warmth, richness, luminosity. I wanted everything to feel intentional and beautifully considered without overpowering Misty herself.”

Emma Chamberlain

Emma Chamberlain’s memorable watercolour smoky eye was the work of makeup artist Lilly Keys, who used Makeup by Mario products to get the beautiful, multi-dimensional look. “Liquid light meets shadow. We kept the skin almost glass-like, then layered mauve, deep plum, and flashes of iridescent yellow so the makeup shifts with the light — like it’s breathing between darkness and glow,” explains Keys. “Nothing sits on top, everything melts in… prismatic, fluid, a little haunted. The glow plays against the depth in the eyes ~ soft, luminous skin contrasted with something more shadowed and undone ~ so from every angle it feels like one continuous piece, light and dark moving together. Ethereal, surreal, slightly gothic… soft but striking, with an otherworldly edge.”

Chase Sui Wonders

Makeup artist Shayna Goldberg used Ilia products for Chase Sui Wonders’ glowing look. “To keep things light we spot concealed with Ilia Skin Blur Serum Concealer,” explains Goldberg. “We prepped the lid with Ilia Eye Stylus Shadow Stick in the shade Flax, using the shade Beam to highlight the inner corner and brow bone. To add back in definition along the lash line, I used Ilia Eye Stylus Shadow Stick in Oscuro.” Goldberg finished the look with a neutral lip and let the eyes do the talking.

Nicole Kidman

Celebrity hairstylist (and Virtue creative director) Adir Abergel used the brand’s styling products, such as the beloved Volumizing Primer and Smooth Un-Frizz Cream, as well as Shark hair tools on Nicole Kidman and her daughter, Sunday Rose. For Kidman, Abergel was inspired by the sharp lines and shine of the actress’ dress, and he created a hairstyle that echoed that sense of light and motion. “For Nicole and Sunday’s first Met Gala together, I wanted to create a meaningful connection for this special moment,” explains Abergel. “Hair became a subtle yet beautiful unifying thread, tying their looks together through a shared expression of modern elegance.” For Rose, “the inspiration was rooted in strength and femininity. We played with length and the health of the hair to evoke a sense of youthful, effortless playfulness.”

To complement Kidman’s beauty look, celebrity makeup artist Gucci Westman used Clé de Peau Beauté to create “a look that captured the spirit of the evening; refined, luminous, and effortlessly sophisticated.” Mirroring the elegance of her hairstyle, Kidman’s makeup was softly sculpted, using warm, peachy-bronze tones for a timeless look that enhanced her natural radiance.

On her cheeks, I used Revlon Glimmer Blush Drops in ‘Pink It Over’ to create a highlighted blush effect and bring an ethereal vibe to the look.”

Anok Yai

One of the standout beauty looks of the evening was certainly Anok Yai’s gold-dusted skin, bronzed hair and solid tears. The makeup was the work of artist Sheika Daley, while the prosthetic wig (!!) and tears were led by FX makeup artist and body painter Malina Stearns, with wig sculpture design by Sasha Glasser.

A true work of art.

Hairstylist Jacob Aaron worked with Ayo Edebiri on her Met Gala look, which included a Hairvivi wig. “When Jacob reached out to me to create the ‘Siena’ wig for Ayo at this year’s Met Gala, I was immediately excited by the challenge as this was the first time [one] my wigs walked the Met Gala,” says celeb hairstylist and creative director of Hairvivi, Roger Medina. “The vision was to do something unexpected with Ayo’s hair; something that felt ethereal, luxurious and intentional, while still [being] modern, effortless and worthy of the carpet.” On the skin prep front, celebrity esthetician Cynthia Rivas prepper Edebiri’s skin using ORA Method LED Gua Sha “to sculpt, de-puff, and create an effortlessly lifted and natural contour,” says Rivas. “It’s all about enhancing what Ayo already has. I focused on sculpting and lymphatic drainage, lifting Ayo’s face while releasing fluid and tension with the vibration.”

Part of SZA’s show-stopping look was another Hairviva creation by Roger Medina—this time the custom-made “Ciara” wig. With hair by Devante Turnbull, the look was inspired by showgirl glamour, romanticism, and theatrical elegance. “Back in January, I created two custom wigs for SZA,” explains Medina. "[One] for Paris Fashion Week and a second was quietly archived for something special. Fast forward to May 5th, when I woke up to a text from Devante, SZA’s hairstylist, telling me that wig had been chosen for her Met Gala look. To see that piece come full-circle on such an iconic night was incredibly special, and I couldn’t be more proud to have been part of bringing that vision to life.”

On the makeup front, makeup artist Sophia Sinot used Lilly Lashes for SZA’s glowing goddess glam. “For tonight’s Met Gala look on SZA, we went for a dramatic cat-eye lash moment. I used ‘3D Faux Mink Milan’ lashes from Lilly Lashes as a base, then cut ‘3D Faux Mink Miami’ lashes in half and stacked them on top for a bold, lifted, and ultra-glam finish.”

Gigi Hadid

Celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta achieved a glowy, perfectly flushed glam on Gigi Hadid using a variety of Maybelline New York products. Emphasizing the model’s cheekbones, Ta leaned into a blush-forward moment with the Cloudtopia Cheek and Lip Mousse Blush in shades Enchanted Mauve and Toasted Sky, and layered the City Bronzer in shades 200 and 300 for increased dimension.“We were inspired by the feeling of being flushed after a romantic evening in a blooming garden—skin radiant, cheeks naturally ignited, as if stepping out of a dream at golden hour,” says Ta.

Emily Blunt

Celebrity hairstylist Laini Reeves used TRESemmé‘s A-List Collection to achieve the effortlessly flawless updo seen on Emily Blunt. Pulling inspiration from her gorgeous custom Ashli look, the hairstyle was designed to “complement the military style” designed for Blunt. Reeves used the collection’s All-in-One Style Primer, Bonding Oil, Style Extend Dry Shampoo, and Workable Hairspray to give her hair the perfectly polished finish we saw at the Gala.

Camila Morrone

Celebrity Hairstylist Renato Campora paired the elegance of Camila Morrone’s Tory Burch gown with an effortless approach to her waves. Using Hair Rituel by Sisley products, the key to achieving Morrone’s perfect full body volume was the brand’s Volumizing Spray. “It provides a beautiful dense effect to create a lived and loved-in texture,” says Campora.

Sabrina Carpenter

Complementing the black and white palette of the unique Dior film-strip gown, celebrity nail artist and OPI Global Ambassador Zola Ganzorigt gave Sabrina Carpenter a reimagined French manicure by OPI. The nails featured a soft nude base with dramatic black tips, and a reflective chrome effect to tie it all together, using OPI’s “Bare My Soul” and "Black Onyx” shades.

Gabrielle Union

Celebrity makeup artist Sam Fine used KISS’ The New Natural Strip Lash in Nude Blazer to give Gabrielle Union’s eyes a striking pop at last night’s Gala. As Fine himself gushed, “defined, lifted, and undeniably captivating.” Not only did they look show-stopping, but the KISS Lash Super Strong Strip Lash Adhesive guaranteed long-lasting quality that made sure Gabrielle’s lashes stayed perfect all night.
