Meghan Markle’s Skin Secret Will Seriously Surprise You

The countdown to the royal wedding is on and the question on our minds (other than who will design the dress?!) is how Meghan Markle maintains her legit flawless skin.

Well, it turns out the secret isn’t a hella expensive cream or serum. It could just be...almonds. Recently, Markle revealed that almonds and almond butter are a key part of her snacking routine. And the benefits are hard to deny.

“If you are looking for beautiful skin, a daily serving of almonds (about 23 almonds) are the perfect addition to your diet,” says Registered Dietitian Nicole Osinga. “Almonds contain a number of nutrients that benefit skin health, including vitamin E, zinc and healthy monounsaturated fats. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that protects your skin from sun damage. Zinc helps build new cells and repair damaged ones, and is especially beneficial for acne sufferers. Healthy monounsaturated fats contribute to the moisture of our skin and help repair it. In addition, almonds are a low-glycemic index food; a diet low in glycemic index foods can help prevent acne.”

Almonds are also a great source of manganese, which can help protect your cells from oxidative damage, as well as copper, which contributes to normal skin pigmentation.

With that said, we’re off to the closest bulk food store we can find.
