Inside Chanel’s Gabrielle Fragrance Dinner with Margot Robbie in LA
The night was full of stars.
The feathers circling the hem of the Chanel couture trousers Margot Robbie was wearing might have been tickling her feet all night. But the distraction didn’t prevent the face of the French house’s newest scent, Gabrielle Chanel Essence, from buoyantly greeting guests at the Chateau Marmont for a celebration of the fragrance.
For the occasion, Robbie wore an ivory belted asymmetric silk ruffled top with wide leg black satin feather-trimmed pants from the brand’s F/W’19 haute couture collection. At one point in the evening, the Wolf of Wall Street actress addressed the crowd saying, “Good things happen when I wear Chanel.”
After cocktails by the pool, a pretty pack of young Hollywood stars including Maude Apatow, Dree Hemmingway, Lucy Fry, Emile Hirsch, Charlie Heaton, the Haim sisters and Joe Keery sat down for a family-style dinner – passing platters of steak frites, roasted chicken and grilled asparagus. And when Washington DC-based electro pop trio Shaed took to a platform erected over the pool, Chelsea Lee’s voluptuous vocals seduced the crowd, and no doubt the famous ghosts of the Marmont, as well.
