Why M.A.C’s latest collaboration is its most impressive ever
If there’s one beauty brand that does collaborations right, it’s M.A.C Cosmetics. The fact that the brand announces a new partnership on the weekly guarantees that they are pros. For M.A.C’s latest collab, #MACMakeupArtCosmetics, rather than teaming up with a celeb or a fashion designer, M.A.C went back to its artistic roots and tapped three makeup masters of the industry, Kabuki, James Kaliardos and Diane Kendal.
“Makeup professionals embody the spirit and heritage of the M.A.C culture, says Senior Vice Presdient/Group Creative Director James Gage. “[They] have been a part of the M.A.C family for many years, keying our shows at fashion weeks around the globe and working on our various visual campaigns, so it was only natural that we collaborate with these artistic visionaries.”
Releasing a whopping 50-piece collection, each eye, lip and face product will not only showcase their individual makeup personality and their signature style (“[It] turned my wish list into reality,” says Kabuki) but it will also be an opportunity for diehard fans to channel their artists’ favourite shades and tools into their everyday beauty look. Clearly, that was on the artists’ agenda as well.
“I want every woman using my products to feel beautiful and confident by being able to perfect her look in an easy to use way,” says Kaliardos.
“Working with M.A.C in a variety of ways over the years — be it on shows or campaigns — I have always loved their products and this is reflected in my work and my kit, as I am always fully stocked with M.A.C,” says Kendal. “I’m very excited to have been asked to collaborate on this collection with James and Kabuki as we all have our own distinct styles which will compliment and show case the collection to its fullest.”
Although we won’t be able to get our hands on the full collection until January 2017 (womp womp), here’s a sneak peek of a few of the products from the #MACMakeupArtCosmetics line, so you can start saving up for the release date. Is this the most epic M.A.C collab yet? We think so.
