Louis Vuitton announces its first-ever makeup line, La Beauté Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton is Launching a Makeup Line + More Beauty News

Louis Vuitton may be renowned for its leather goods and luxurious apparel, but beauty has always been part of the house’s DNA. The very first Louis Vuitton handbags were designed to hold everyday necessities like cosmetics, and the brand’s archives are filled with exquisitely crafted travel cases, powder compacts, and mirrors from the ‘20s. Expanding upon its storied relationship with beauty, Louis Vuitton is launching a makeup brand called La Beauté Louis Vuitton, later this fall.

The maison has appointed none other than Dame Pat McGrath, the iconic makeup artist, to lead the creative direction of this new métier. “Working backstage for over 20 years at Louis Vuitton fashion shows, I am thrilled to now play such a key role in the launch of La Beauté Louis Vuitton, which is the result of extraordinary craftmanship, creativity and innovation. The beauty universe is about so much more than just product, and what we are creating here will unlock a new level in luxury beauty,” says McGrath in a press statement. Introducing a more potent interpretation of its signature Blanche Eau de Parfum, Byredo presents Blanche Absolu de Parfum. With an amplified aldehydic composition paired with intensified floral and musk notes, Blanche Absolu evokes the scent of clean skin and soft linens. Contrasting purity and strength, its core amber wood aroma brings to mind the comforting heat between close bodies.

This launch comes as the first of the perfume brand’s new Blanche chapter, which is set to include more limited-edition drops across the body, textiles and home categories this year.

With the announcement of COS Perfumery, contemporary clothing label COS makes its first foray into the fragrance realm. Bringing the same level of remarkable craftsmanship and polish it’s known for in its clothing to the fine fragrance category, the brand is due to launch a luxurious selection of aromatic parfums and candles this spring.

Formulated in France’s perfume-making epicentre, Grasse, each scent balances tradition with modernity. Rich vanilla “Auburn,” enigmatic “Mythe,” floral “Fleuriste,” and ambery “Solaire” make up the Eau de Parfum range, while the complementary candle collection also includes four evocative scents for the home.
