LFW Spring 2018: Our 5 Favourite Beauty Messages

London Fashion Week is the most compressed of the four major cities so you blink and it’s over. But we kept our eyes open long enough to pick our five favourite beauty messages.

Alice Temperley

Charlotte Tilbury used her Beauty Light and Contour wands to create crazy highlighted skin for a look she described as “French Riveria fresh with a fifties twist”. Whatever you call it, we want it.

Simone Rocha

The carefree air-dried hair at Simone Rocha was put in side parts, texturized with powder for added grit and then held in place by the most beautiful, pearl-encrusted barrettes.

Roksanda Illinic

Miranda Joyce used MAC’s Moisture Gel Mixing Medium Shine for a transparent gleam on skin, curled lashes and applied lip balm and lip pencil on select models to create a matte stain. It’s basically how we want to look everyday.

Peter Pilotto

There was a rawness to the shape Anthony Turner created, with the pulled hair straight back from the crowns, secured with a single old school comb.

J.W. Anderson

The bobby pin-held side parts and black liner drawn only on the bottom felt very Margot Tenenbaum. Despite not including a cigarette hanging out of the corner of models’ mouths, the look felt very bad ass school girl.

Lesa Hannah was on staff at FASHION for 18 years (2001-2019) working in the beauty department. She's also written for Elle Canada, The Kit, The Toronto Star, The Globe & Mail, Forbes Vetted, Canadian Business, NUVO, Stereogum, GQ and Vanity Fair.
