Happy birthday, Lancôme! The iconic brand is celebrating 80 years

Today marks exactly 80 years since the birth of Lancôme. For eight decades, the iconic brand has brought us (and our mothers and grandmothers) scientific innovations, constantly reinvented makeup, and the most reliable skincare products. Founded by Armand Petitjean in 1935, Lancôme is celebrating its 80th anniversary, the brand has released the above short film, and will be coming out with a coffee table book on International Women’s Day (March 8th), as well as many other limited edition releases throughout 2015.

“Above all, we wanted this celebration to be a moment of joy,” said Françoise Lehmann, Lancôme’s General Manager in a statement. “Because – for Lancôme – beauty goes hand in hand with happiness. So it’s a birthday in the form of a celebration, which each month will reaffirm the brand’s greatest ambition: making women’s lives more beautiful with Lancôme!”
