Kérastase Just Launched a Colour-Correcting Pen for Hair

By now you’ve probably all heard of colour correcting, the beauty technique based on “colour harmony” principles wherein opposite colour hues cancel each other out. The concept itself isn’t new, but it had a big revival in 2016, with plenty of beauty brands hopping on the colour correcting train and offering palettes, creams and crayons in pastel hues (green to combat redness, peach/orange to rule out blue and lavender to combat yellow and vice versa).

Now, colour correcting its making its way into haircare, with Kérastase’s Reflection Touche Chromatique... and to be honest, it’s a brilliant move we’re surprised no one thought of sooner.

The Touche Chromatique is an at-home “ink” treatment formulated to be mixed in with a mask for colour correction in between salon visits. It comes in four shades — cool blonde: a violet formula to combat brassiness in blonde hair, cool brown: a green formula to erase pigment in brown hair and copper and red to revitalize those respective colours.

For best results, Kérastase suggests using the Touche Chromatique once a week starting two to three weeks after your visit to the salon. Simply add 10 drops of Touche Chromatique to your mask in a separate bowl (Kérastase Chroma Riche Mask is recommended for highlighted, balayaged and scalp bleached hair, while Kérastase Chroma Captive Mask is advised for brown, copper and red hair colour), mix well and apply evenly to damp hair after shampooing. After five minutes, rinse off and admire your revived strands.
