Now trending: Kelly Osbourne’s safety pin-adorned hair from every angle
Kelly Osbourne has really stepped up her sartorial game, but it’s her beauty choices that have truly impressed us lately. We can’t help but credit her with starting the lavender hair trend that Nicole Richie and Katy Perry have since popularized, and last week, she debuted what may be our favourite Kelly look ever: purple hair shaved on one side, adorned with safety pins and several messy braids throughout.
The star swapped bobby pins for their sleeker, sharper cousin, for a look that was, well, not very safe. Kelly Osbourne’s safety pin hair must have been the talk of the party at the Refinery29 and Cadillac event she was hosting, and with good reason. Conceived and executed by her longtime stylist, Ryan Randall, the pins reportedly took an hour to remove. We think the look was well worth the trouble.
While it’s hard to imagine her Fashion Police co-star, and overall Hollywood legend/nightmare, Joan Rivers, approving of Kelly Osbourne’s safety pin hair, it will certainly go down as her most memorable beauty look to date.
Kelly took to her Instagram account to document the painful-looking removal process, while her hairstylist Randall took to his to express his adoration of the star. “Love it or hate it, @kellyosbourne is always willing to take a risk, and owns it. Love this #braided #punk look we did tonight for the @refinery29 event. You are the ultimate collaborator, and a daily inspiration Kelly!”
