Two Ultra-Creative Ways to Wear Glitter This Holiday Season

You’ve never worn glitter like this before.

Glitter tends to be polarizing but if you’re in favour it, then the holidays are your peak time to bust it out. That said, we suggest two ways of wearing it that break from the norm, with the help of Stila’s global executive director of creative artistry, Sarah Lucero.

Look #1 (lips): To prep the lip, use a moisturizing lip primer. Next, apply your favourite liquid lipstick (we used Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Dolce), which is a great neutral for medium to darker skin tones. Then, we applied Stila’s Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in Kitten Karma, using a lip brush, to the Cupid’s bow. Be sure to use a synthetic brush when applying the glitter product, as a natural hair brush will absorb the product and prevent it from adhering evenly. Trace an outline just above your Cupid’s bow, being careful not to take it too high up (or you may look sweaty instead of sparkly). You can also trace the bottom outer lip line with glitter if you want to further enhance the lip.

Look #2 (eyes): Apply a line of glitter gel or cream (we used Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in Smoldering Satin), above your crease, with an eyeliner brush. Apply with your eye open in a straighter line above your natural crease. Also apply to the inner corner of the eye in a “V” shape and to the outer corner slightly flicked up. Finish with mascara.
