Grammys 2016 beauty: 14 celebs who killed it in the hair and makeup department

The Grammys usually go like this: some celebs choose to stand out from the crowd (two words: meat dress), while others stick to classic gowns and beauty looks. The 2016 Grammys red carpet was a sea of natural beauty last night, with many of the women embracing a “no makeup” makeup look. However a few did go all out with avant-garde hair and makeup.

Team natural beauty was represented by Bella Hadid, Ellie Goulding, Demi Lovato, and Florence Welch, among others. Selena Gomez wowed with a smoky cat-eye and luxurious mermaid waves, while Ariana Grande stuck to her usual sleek ponytail and nude lip (hey, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it?).

On the other end of the beauty spectrum, quite a few A-listers experimented with bold colorus and hairstyles. Taylor Swift debuted a new, shorter bob along with a vibrant orange-red lip. Zendaya also showcased a new hairstyle: a mullet (although we’re thinking it’s probably just a wig), which may not be her best look ever but wins points for being a tribute to David Bowie. Speaking of Bowie tributes, Lady Gaga showed up sporting flaming red hair and blue eye makeup inspired by the late singer.

Overall though, the beauty look of the night was a no-brainer. Selena, Ciara, Bella Hadid, Ariana Grande, and more stunned in the classic nude lip and smoky eye combo. Many of them also paired it with sleek, no-fuss hair and--of course--glowing skin.
