Red lips aren’t just a classic; they also demand that you pay attention to what the wearer is saying. There couldn’t have been a more appropriate night for that to be the case than at tonight’s Golden Globes, which was markedly different from all others with the Time’s Up movement taking the focus. With actresses uniting in solidarity by wearing black, many of them also paired it with a crimson mouth. Tonight, that choice felt less like a red carpet beauty statement and more a decisive declaration that insisted we listen to what they all had to say, and that silence is no longer an option.
