Follow your nails

I’ve made up a word to describe the peppy colours of this summer’s beauty palettes: candy-licious (def’n: a tone so cheeky you just want to lick it like a lollipop). Unfortunately for my taste buds, most makeup isn’t edible. However, Revlon has done the next best thing to bring these amusing shades to life with the launch of its Fruitful Temptations Scented Nail Enamel ($6, at drugstores).

The polish is available in fruity colours, each with a matching tropical scent. When I sampled “Mad About Mango” and “Passionate Fruit,” they filled the air with a pleasant fragrance that wasn’t overwhelming. But don’t be too eager to get a sniff – the scent only comes once the polish is dry. As for the look of my nails, I wouldn’t quite call the enamel chip-resistant, but its silk-protein shield did give me a bubble-free finish. Because who wants a bumpy lollipop?
