“Obsession” is a word the fashion flock uses a lot. A lot. Walk into any showroom, fashion preview or story pitch meeting and you’re bound to hear someone off in the distance uttering the following phrase: “I’m obsessed!” Heck, Animotion’s  song of the same name, was theme to the groundbreaking Fashion Television (RIP).

Though editors aren’t the only ones whose passing interest in a beauty product or type of clothing spirals out of control, we might have a few more enablers. There’s always a nice publicist who knows you like a certain thing, or an It-girl’s Insta-feed boasting about a client’s product. Not to mention retail look books that let you view an entire line from the comfort of your desk.
