While we all love a good statement lip, we can’t help but always make our way back to the ‘no-makeup’ makeup trend. We know fall is a great time to experiment with darker hair shades, darker lips, darker eyes, darker whatever (souls?), but it’s also a great time to let your makeup take a more backstage approach. Case in point, our favourite celebrities have been rocking the ‘au naturel’ look in order to show off their new hair hues (like Nicole Richie’s bright purple hair) or freshly chopped locks (like Mia Wasikowksa’s blunt bob). The key to nailing this look is essentially all in your pre-makeup routine. We’re talking daily SPF application, drinking a ton of water to keep skin hydrated, an amazing moisturzier and serum, and finally, removing your makeup every.single.night. In terms of makeup it’s best to keep it as simple as possible—an even layer of tinted moisturizer, a hint of bronzer and peach-coloured blush, mascara and a little tinted gloss. To glam up the look for night apply a highlighter to the tops of cheek bones as well as a neutral eye shadow or liner to play up the eyes. One of the top reasons we love this look?
