Obviously, Selena Gomez kind of dominated the beauty game on the 2017 American Music Awards red carpet. Which is fine, a lifelong brunette going blonde is worthy of attention. But now that the show has come and gone, we’re reflecting on, well, everything else.

From Yara Shahidi’s cornrows and pastel eyeshadow to Hailee Steinfeld and Ciara’s wet, slicked back hair, there was plenty of beauty inspo to go around. The great thing about the American Music Awards is that, unlike some of the more experimental red carpets (like the VMAs, for instance), the beauty trends err on the safe side, but are always still glam.
