All the beauty news you missed this week (like the snack Salma Hayek thinks you should put on your face)

A lot can happen in seven days. And surely you don’t have time to read the entire internet, so we’ve rounded up the biggest (and weirdest) beauty moments of the week in one convenient location.

Justin Bieber went blonde/beautiful

Perhaps to one-up his crying jag at the VMAs a few weeks ago (bless his beautiful heart), Justin Bieber debuted platinum blonde hair during his Today Show performance yesterday morning. At 21, some of us (hello) also attempted a colour choice of the blonde persuasion, convinced it would make us exactly as interesting as we aspired to be and/or hoping it would eclipse a temper tantrum, which is exactly what J-Biebs had after the cameras stopped rolling yesterday.

“The camera’s there the whole time, I might as well not even dance,” he said, upset he’d been framed in tight shots versus wide, choreography-friendly ones. “What do I even do this for if they are just going to . . .”

Because we wanted to see your hair, Justin. We wanted to see your hair dance.

Salma Hayek suggested using guacamole on your face

Nobody here is about to argue with Salma Hayek on achieving maximum hair/skin goals, so let’s just embrace her advice and put mayonnaise, avocado, egg yolk, apple vinegar, and coconut oil in our hair. (Although not at the same time — that’s gross and overwhelming).

The actress gave her answer while offering advice to Buzzfeed readers, which gave rise to the real question of the hour: how doesn’t this woman have her own beauty column?

Khloe Kardashian has removed her lower back tattoo (RIP) While we were taking off for the long weekend, Khloe Kardashian was having the remnants of her lower back tattoo removed and posting the process on Instagram, which looked super-fun and not at all painful. The ink (a cross with angel wings and “Daddy” written across it) had been a tribute to Khloe’s late father Robert Kardashian, who died in 2003. “Well @SimonOurianMD1 and I had a fun morning,” Kardashian captioned. “The end of an era… Got this bad boy when I was 16… Not so cute anymore. I should’ve listened to Kim when she told me, ‘You don’t put a bumper sticker on a Bentley.’” Even though for the record, bumper stickers are totally fine and if you have one, we say just own it.

Connie Britton’s hair is full of secrets

Okay, but let’s stop asking Connie Britton about her hair. We know her hair is great, and it’s long, and it’s very lovely. We know that if she wanted, Connie Britton could go by the name “Lady Lovelylocks” and that would be fine. But man alive, we’ve got to dial it down. Especially because she just gave us the scoop. It’s feminism. The secret to Connie Britton’s hair is feminism. (Even though we totally would’ve accepted guacamole or mayo, too.)

Rihanna wore blue lipstick, which made us want to wear blue lipstick

As another reminder that she is better than we are and can wear anything and look boss, Rihanna wore blue lipstick at New York Fashion Week and brought back memories of Electric Circus and trying to convince your parents to let you wear blue lipstick, too.

Even better? She wore it with a choker and basic (but not like, basic) white dress that justify every nineties piece I’ve written in the past six months.

Jessica Alba launched a beauty line

Despite legal troubles with The Honest Company (Alba’s all-natural lifestyle line, which has just been hit with a $5 million class action suit after the brand’s sunscreen allegedly failed to work and caused serious sunburns to kids), the actress has branched out into the beauty world, launching Honest Beauty in New York this week.

Consisting of 17 skincare products and 66 makeup products, Honest Beauty is built on affordability (the most expensive item is a $34 moisturizer) and championing diversity — especially since Alba herself said she’s found herself mixing two or three tones to find one that matched her skin. So far, reviews have been great — so, like, when can we buy it?
