Afternoon beauty fix: Sudden change in your skin? You may have to treat it from within

My regularly oily skin has been crazy dry this winter. How do I find a moisturizer that won’t clog my pores and make me break out? Your skin offers a clear indication of your internal health—the fact that you usually have oily skin and suddenly have dry skin suggests you may have altered your diet, your environment, or are feeling some stress.

Start fixing your internal health immediately by choosing a delicious herbal tea (white teas have the most antioxidants and are the best for complexions!) and indulge in it regularly to hydrate from within. In terms of a topical moisturizer, my recommendation is to stick to natural products, which will ensure no petroleum-based products invade your skin. Petroleum is guilty of negligence to penetrate—it tends to sit on the surface of your skin and disrupt the breathability of your pores. Oppositely, natural moisturizers like One Love Organics Skin Savior Waterless Beauty balm ($68, oneloveorganics.com) uses cold-pressed plant oils (coconut, mango, oat, chia, orange, and more!) to remove makeup, moisturize pores, and condition damaged skin with the greatest care and ease.
