Afternoon beauty fix: How to wear pastels without looking like you stepped out of a time machine

Is there a fresh way to wear pastels without looking completely time-warped? The ‘90s were a magnificent time for icy-pink lips and baby-blue eyes but, like you, we’re not into repeating those same trends today. Pastels are still pretty, but we think they’re more modern worn on your fingers and toes than on your face. We love Revlon’s new limited-edition Metalized Pastels polish, in shades like “Innocent,” a soft sparkly pink, and “Punk,” a silver-y celery green ($6 each, at drug stores), because they’re soft and somewhat metallic. They also make your nails resemble the silk pyjamas from TLC‘s “Waterfalls” vid so, obviously, we’re hooked.
