Afternoon beauty fix: How to wear glitter without looking like a tween

I’m not a ‘tween or even a teen. Is wearing glittery makeup totally out of the question? No! There are plenty of ways to wear sparkle without appearing too youthful or, ahem, tacky. A swipe of effervescent powder on upper cheekbones looks nice, and so does a sparkly eyeliner layered over-top your favourite matte black. Next time you apply a wing-tip to your upper lashes, add a second layer with a liner like Marcelle‘s Lux Diamond Liquid Eyeliner in “Pure Gold” ($12, at pharmacies and mass retailers). The sparkles won’t command more attention than your eyes, but they’ll catch the light and add a second texture that’s glam and not gaudy.
