Afternoon beauty fix: Hair dye making your new ‘do look greasy?

I dyed my blonde hair dark brown and, though I love the richness of this new colour, I dislike how it tends to look greasy super quickly. Until I go back blonde, will I be stuck shampooing on a daily basis? There’s something magical about embracing change with your hair colour—it creates a sense of renewal and gives you a new character to portray—but your hair’s health shouldn’t pay the price. Showering daily gives your mane a squeaky-clean feeling, but it also dries out pores and diminishes new colour fast. Supplement the days between showering with a dry shampoo which satisfies your grease-free partiality. Thankfully, dry shampoos are on the rise and you’ll find a huge selection to choose from, both at your salon and local drug store. Because you’re now a brunette, we recommend going with a dry shampoo that’s got a bit of a tint to it, such as Principessa Beauty Notte Breeze dry shampoo ($24, principessabeauty.com). It’s designed to suit darker shades and is lightly scented—so your hair can look (and smell!) fresh on day two without the baby-powdered effect other dry shampoos sometimes leave behind.
