Afternoon beauty fix: Clearing up a debate on the causes of clear skin

A friend of mine insists her clear skin is from never wearing foundation. Is this the truth and, if so, should I stop using it? Likely, no. There are many other factors at play—such as hormones, genetics, environmental surroundings, and diet—that would affect your skin more than eight hours of foundation wear. Plus, it sounds like her hypothesis may have come from an aged textbook—foundations can now be argued more helpful than harmful thanks to SPF protection, lightweight pigments, and dermatologist-tested formulas. Maybelline FIT Me Foundation ($10, at drugstores) possesses all of the above plus a super-intelligent technology that blends pigments perfectly with your skin, so you can prove your friend wrong without the use of smoke and mirrors.
