Andreea Diaconu

Romanian fashion model Andreea Diaconu was born in Bucharest and first took to the catwalk at the age of 16, to fund an intensive karate course. Now 22 years old, her career skyrocketed on the Spring/Summer 2013 runways. Since then, the Romanian beauty (just shy of 5’ 11”) has been a staple for editorial and runway campaigns for some of the biggest names in fashion Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana, Balmain, Isabel Marant for H&M and Gucci, to name a name. She was on the cover of covered Vogue Paris’ June/July, appearing nude in the stunning Sauvage editorial shot by Mario Sorrenti.

Looking to the season ahead, Diaconu’s summer must-haves include a pair of good shades, sunscreen and a surfboard, along with denim and metallic. For her laidback, off-duty look, she favours shorts, comfortable low-back tank tops and t-shirts.

She loves old Romanian music, The Cure, The Smiths, Feist and dubstep while she is exercising (she credits running three to six miles whenever she can and squeezing in an hour of training here and there for maintaining her lithe limbs).

Music is important to Diaconu. Pandora is the first website she visits each morning, and her words to live by are, “Dance it out. Metaphorically and literally”.
