How to wear spring’s denim trend: 4 Style Panel members reinvent a classic
To say denim is a trend is at once an understatement and eye roll inducing. How can fashion’s perennial favourite really be called a trend? Well, just one look at Spring 2015’s most influential runways will answer that question real quick. It was shown head-to-toe everywhere from Stella McCartney, Kenzo and Gucci. Lara Cardoso, 21
Toronto | Lara Cardoso
My mind has been on the jean jacket lately. I’ve interested in purchasing a new one for spring but didn’t want the traditional button-up style. Then I spotted this one at Roots. It’s longer, almost to the knee, and although it’s denim it features a quilted pattern up close. Versatile in casual and dressy settings, this take on denim is my version of fresh for spring.

After finding this new way of wearing denim, I’ve been obsessed: Rocking a tutu over my favourite pair of skinny jeans. Feel free to play around with anything from tees to sweaters and everything in between to complete the same kind of look.
Mo’s wearing: Jeans, Winners. Sweater and Purse, thrifted. Tutu, The Tutu Experience. Shoes, Shoe Dazzle. Sunglasses, Chinatown Toronto.

While the wind is a little too cool to bare your legs, cue your denim skinnies! Recently I threw on a pair of jeans under a dress to attend an event with the intentions of removing them upon arrival, but then liked to the look, and so I kept them on. So if it’s too cold to wear your favorite dress simply toss on some jeans, and call it a day.

Since moving to Calgary, I’ve learned that one can never wear too much denim—even all at once. This denim dress has been on serious repeat with the warmer weather and of course, in many different ways—simple with sneaks or haute with heels.
