It’s baaaaaack! World MasterCard Fashion Week kicked off in Toronto yesterday, with the city’s top fashion fans gathering at the (slightly freezing) tents for the Fall 2014 shows. Should you be one of those possibly-shivering-yet-totally-stylish people hanging out at David Pecaut Square, we’re coming to find you! Our street style photographer, Stefani Yarhi, is back again this season interviewing the people who make Toronto fashion week what it is. What are you wearing and why?
I’m wearing a Pink Tartan Spring 2014 leather high waisted skirt, Zara blouse, Zara bag (an amazing find!), a Vince blazer, Stuart Weitzman chunky heels and Urban Outfitter sunglasses—that were only $12!
Favourite thing you’re wearing?
I think my skirt, it’s a showstopper (even though it’s black) because it’s pleated, leather and high-waisted. Oh, and I’m wearing green because it’s St. Patty’s Day.
Who are you coming to see or what are you doing at the tents?
I’m doing a job, I can’t say… for Vawk and Line Knitwear.
What’s your fave spring trend?
The pink lip, it’s not fuchsia, it’s a muted pink lip. I thought about wearing it today, but the red lip popped more. But clothing trend, I’d say the relaxed trouser, it’s so on for the summer and it’s something you can carry through.

What are you wearing and why?
I’m wearing a big mix. I’ve got a Iro tee, a custom-made fur, Zara customized pants, Zara boots, J Crew hat and a Danier leather jacket.
Favourite thing you’re wearing?
I love the custom-made fur.
What do you like about Toronto fashion week?
WMCFW brings excitement to the city, it’s something new. It flavours it up: everyone’s tired, it’s been winter, we need a blast of something fresh.
What’s your fave spring trend?
Personally, I love dark and I love how so many designers are going a bit more grungy this season instead of the same old florals.

What are you wearing?
Mikhael Kale dress, Dolce & Gabbana and Cartier jewellery, Charlotte Olympia shoes, D&G purse.
What do you like about Toronto fashion week?
I love Toronto fashion week because it’s an incredible platform for so many artists and designers who wouldn’t typically have the opportunity to show their incredible pieces. Toronto gives it that platform, we have unbelievable Canadian talent, I support it a hundred percent. I flew back from my holiday with my kids, I wouldn’t miss it. It’s really important to support.
Who are you coming to see or what are you doing at the tents?
I’m just here to see Mikhael Kale today. I’ll be seeing Joe Fresh, Pink Tartan, Mackage, Mikael D throughout the week and I’m really excited to see them all.
What’s your fave spring trend?
I’m loving the bejewelled trends: sweaters and different pieces. Also off the shoulder. I’m seeing a lot of it and I think it’s important.

A little bit of my father’s clothes! The raincoat is Forever21, the purse is Danier and the jeans are my dad’s and the jean jacket is my mom’s. And Joe Fresh shoes and my Persol glasses.

I’m here to see everyone but especially Beaufille.

The people watching!

Lacoste coat because it’s cold. A vintage Mick Jagger tee, Zara boots and suspenders—I wear them every day because they’re better than a belt.
