Dispatch from Milan: A YSL state of mind at Gucci

Fashion is in a YSL state of mind this season, and I must admit, after seeing the YSL docmentary L’Amour Fou at TIFF, I’ve caught the bug. Nowhere was this mood felt more strongly than at Gucci’s homage to the designer’s glam ‘70s heyday--the sexy sophisticated show took a romp through familiar Saint Laurent territory from the disco, all the way to Marrakesh.
Jewel-toned brights mixed in that unmistakable YSL way, then a natural palette of slick safari pieces that mixed fringe, leather, grommets, gold braid and tassels. Loved the slick red lips, scraped back chignons and wicked ‘70s saddle bags!
