Despite a rapidly changing marketplace, couture is still the granddaddy of fashion. Need proof? Look no further than this roundup of beautiful detail shots from a week of shows that spanned the Grand Palais in Paris to the Trevi Fountain in Rome. That, or skim a line list of details that include descriptions like, “bioluminescent prisms” (Iris Van Herpen) or fabrics like “radzimir, ziberline, mikado and almost transparent grosgrains” (Chanel).
