TIFF 2015 party lessons: All celebrities are BFFAEAEAE
The thing you notice most when you’re in a room with a bunch of celebs is that they all invariably know each other. And it’s not in an “I love your work” sort of way. It’s like a BFFAEAE way. At last night’s Hollywood Foreign Press/Instyle party sponsored by Max Mara, there were too many meet-cutes to count. Here’s my attempt, in no particular order:
Eddie Redmayne, the current king (and part time queen) of Oscar, is friends with everyone. The affable-to-the-extreme actor hugged it out with Tom Hiddleston on the red carpet, shared a smoke with Paul Dano on the patio and cast aside compliments about his buzzy role in the upcoming The Danish Girl like it was no big deal. When Molly Ringwald told him, “you make a very beautiful woman,” he responded with “it’s all in the lighting and the many makeup artists.”
And speaking of Tom Hiddleston, the actor showed up with current GF and I Saw The Light co-star Elizabeth Olsen who is insanely beautiful and also BFFs with Dakota Johnson. When the two spotted each other, they were all like “oh haaai girl!” while waving their hands in the air.
Fresh off her recent trip to Burning Man, Susan Sarandon maintained an air of IGDAF effortlessness, breaking out a pair of reading glasses while chatting it up under dim lighting.
Meanwhile, Michael Shannon wanted to party with everyone. (He literally said, “who cares, let’s party!” while drinking red wine.)
Earlier at Grey Goose Soho House, the cast of I Miss You Already (a.k.a. the new Beaches) was acting appropriately BFFish, with Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette sharing couch cuddle sessions while taking in an impromptu acoustic performance by co-star, All American Rejects singer Tyson Ritter.
And just to show that celebs can be BFFs with real people too, Bryan Cranston posed for numerous fan photos outside Hudson Bay’s Trumbo party, before joining cast mate Elle Fanning (resplendent in red floorlength Gucci) inside.
