ICYMI: British director Richard Curtis gifted the world with the best news of 2017 - Love Actually is back.
The iconic 2003 romcom will return as a 10 minute mini-film for Red Nose Day on March 24, and will reunite all our favourite characters. Those confirmed to appear include Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Keira Knightley, Liam Neeson and little Thomas Brodie-Sangster all grown up.
So what are all these lovestruck Brits up to 14 years later? We have a few (hopeful) ideas:
Daniel (Liam Neeson), reconnects with stepson Sam (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) after years of cross continental separation. Sam ran away to New York with his young love Joanna (Olivia Olsen) to study percussion at Julliard, but dropped out after he and Joanna went viral on YouTube with a sultry jazz rendition of “All I Want for Christmas”.
Rock star Billy Mack (Bill Nighy) has married his long-suffering manager Joe (Gregor Fisher). The couple has retired to a country home in north Wales, where they raise chickens and bake fresh bread every morning.
Jamie (Colin Firth) is having his crime novel turned into a major hollywood movie. He wins the Oscar for best original screenplay, and makes a political statement about how his wife - Portuguese housekeeper Aurélia (Lúcia Moniz) - is an immigrant. They are Britain’s new “it” couple and recently announced on Instagram that they are pregnant with twins.
Juliet (Keira Knightley) and Peter (Chiwetel Ejiofor) are still married, and they have a 11-year-old daughter named Kaity. Mark (Andrew Lincoln) - Peter’s best friend who famously confessed his love for Juliet on a series of poster notes - has ‘imprinted’ on young Kaity, which explains his unwavering adoration for her mother. It happened in those vampire movies Twilight, so it’s totally normal and not creepy at all.
David (Hugh Grant) was forced to step down as Prime Minister after a very public sex scandal with a member of his house staff. David chose love with Natalie (Martine McCutcheon) over political power, and now spends his days on the front lines of the Women’s March movement. He is best friends with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who shares his passions for well styled hair and standing up to American bullies.
