Marc Jacobs on smoking (it’s the best!), heroin (you can’t be a fat addict!) and designing things he doesn’t love

True to form, Marc Jacobs was refreshingly unfiltered during an on-camera interview with the German edition of Interview. The envelope-pushing designer opened up about everything from his favourite things (“Smoking’s the best!”) to misconceptions about having been a “fat drug addict” (“That was the stupidest thing I ever heard because first of all, I was never a fat heroin addict, I was a skinny heroin addict”). The almost seven-minute-long video is packed with memorable quotes from beginning to end, not to mention a couple of great observations on being at the helm of two major fashion labels—wait for the “sometimes you just have to close one eye” bit at the end.
