Bachelor Nation is NOT Happy with Nick Viall’s Final Rose Pick

Spoiler Alert!

After not one, not two, but three prior attempts to wifey up on the Bachelor franchise, Nick Viall has finally managed to put a ring on it. The question on everyone’s minds now: How long will it last?

If history is any indication, we’ll go with not long at all.

On last night’s finale of the 21st season of The Bachelor, the future Dancing with the Star contestant named one woman his temporary bride-to-be and set up the other for a spot on Bachelor in Paradise. Nick ultimately chose Vanessa Grimaldi, a Montreal-based special education teacher, over Raven Gates, a boutique owner from the South. The problem? Nick is unwilling to abandon his opportunity for fame and riches in Los Angeles, and Vanessa is a Canadian homebody through and through. Will they meet somewhere halfway? Resettle in middle America, get married and start procreating?

Unfortunately, neither Nick nor Vanessa seems willing to compromise. Relationships are about balance, and no amount of roses, tears, helicopter rides or testaments of “right reasons” could save two people unwilling to make mutual concessions.

At the live taping of After the Final Rose, many viewers felt the lovebirds appeared tense as they spoke to the “difficulties” of their long-distance relationship. Twitter was not feeling their vibe AT ALL.

Couldn’t they at least have faked it? After watching Nick cry nonstop on camera for 12 weeks, Bachelor viewers at least deserve a happy ending.
