The New Supreme Collab You’ll Never Own
The Supreme collaboration has become just that: Supreme. In fact, it’s such a hot commodity, that I immediately associate the concept with “sold-out”.
A friend once told me how amazed she was to see her teenage son set out an Internet bot just to secure an item from the skate brand’s high end partnership with Louis Vuitton. As for the in-store experience, the Supreme x LV pop-ups drew such large crowds that organizers chose to cancel them to avoid the wrath of neighbouring boutiques.
So this spring, Supreme is reaching for new heights, literally, by teaming up with Rimowa on a custom version of its Topas multiwheel suitcase in the carry-on and larger 82L size. It’s worth noting that Rimowa falls under the LVMH umbrella, so negotiations must have been easy here.
The suitcase holds true to Rimowa’s gamechanging aluminum hardshell and will have multiwheel rolling wheels plus TSA combination locks. But since this is being made exclusively for Supreme, the suitcases will be available in red and black. Suffice to say you’ll be able to find these babies at baggage claim. Prices start at $700 USD.
The cabin size will be available in select Rimowa stores from Saturday, April 14 2018 in New York, Los Angeles, Paris and London. And there will be pop-ups in Tokyo and Hong Kong. Online sales start on the 12th.
