Meghan Markle Wears Navy as a Neutral for Appearance on International Women’s Day
Meghan Markle wore a thing…again! This time it was a particularly fetching navy topper for her latest appearance in Birmingham, England this Thursday morning (aka International Women’s Day). Markle and her fiancé, Royal Ginger Prince Harry, did a walkabout of the town and took time to speak with locals.
Markle’s outfit was comprised of her soon-to-be signature of dark neutrals paired with cream accents. Her navy and white belted coat is by J. Crew, which she paired with black Alexander Wang trousers, an alabaster turtleneck by All Saints and a saddle bag remarkably similar to the one she wore earlier this year.
Meghan Markle is definitely a feminist, as evidenced by the speech she gave at a UN Women summit in 2015. It look like her progressive politics have influenced her husband-to-be as well. Earlier this year, on a visit to Wales, Markle dropped the news that Prince Harry considers himself a feminist too.
Post-walkabout, the couple attended an event sponsored by Stemettes, a social enterprise that encourages young women to pursue careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). “You’re using your brain in a really challenging way,” Markle, 36, reportedly told some of the young participants.
Beyond her prim-yet-dark outfit, the latest Meghan Markle news bit to surface is that she was secretly baptized by the Archbishop of Canterbury in a private ceremony earlier this week. According to the Daily Mail, “Miss Markle did not need to become an Anglican in order to marry Harry in church, but at the time of their engagement last November she made clear she had chosen to be baptised and confirmed out of respect for the Queen’s role as the head of the Church of England.”
Markle and Prince Harry are set to marry on May 19th at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
