Golden Globes 2017: The Best Looks From The Red Carpet

With the Golden Globes following the holidays so closely, we almost feel sorry for all the celebs who avoided Christmas chocolates and sweated through extra workouts for fear of not fitting into their gowns and tuxedos. Luckily, this is the one where they serve alcohol during the show, so once they walk the red carpet, they can settle in for a hilarious night hosted by late night comedy genius Jimmy Fallon, cocktail in-hand.

All that hard work payed off because tonight’s red carpet was red hot. Metallics ruled with lots of silver sirens (Ruth Negga, Drew Barrymore, Tracee Ellis Ross, Millie Bobby Brown, Nicole Kidman, Regina King) and golden goddesses (Emily Ratajkowski, Kerry Washington, Priyanka Chopra) stepping out in the spotlight and channeling that coveted statuette. Millennial pink, the colour of the moment, was also a top red carpet trend. Lily Collins‘ fairy tale fantasy dress blushed pale pink while Felicity Jones’ trompe l’oeil Gucci gown and Carrie Underwood’s ruffled column were more pepto. We also spotted décolletage-bearing plunge necklines on everyone from Mandy Moore and Sarah Jessica Parker to Jessica Chastain and Jessica Biel. Florals, yellow, lace and creamy colours rounded out the most worn styles of the night.

If we had to give out the award for best dressed, this year’s trophy would go to Ruth Negga for her futuristic silver sequined Louis Vuitton gown with dramatic collar-to-carpet zipper. It was modern, sleek and stunning, just like the up and coming actress.
