Gillian Anderson is Launching a Capsule Collection for Winser London

I was completely unaware of the existence of a rather posh British brand called Winser London until two days ago, when it was brought to my rapt attention once it had been revealed that Gillian Anderson had designed a capsule collection for the brand which launches on September 1st. Social media was alight with praise for the X-Files and Hannibal star who was looking particularly icy in the campaign images for the collection.

The collection includes a cozy-looking cashmere turtleneck and a swing coat she describes as “the perfect coat!” This is the most unexpected, gloriously queer celebrity collaboration in months and I, along with many others, am HERE FOR IT. (Page Six)

Meghan Markle’s Wedding Dress to go on Display at Windsor Castle

If you couldn’t get enough of Meghan Markle’s simple boatneck Givenchy wedding gown broadcast across your television (or laptop) screen back in May, we have good news. You’ll now be able to make a pilgrimage to Merry England to catch a view of the real thing. Markle’s gown will go on display, alongside her veil and tiara, as part of an exhibition titled “A Royal Wedding: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” on display at Windsor Castle as of October 2018. If you can’t make it before the exhibition ends in January 2019, don’t fear; the exhibition will also be displayed at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh from June to October 2019. (WWD)

VFILES Show at New York Fashion Week Will be Open to the General Public

With the arrival of Style.com (now Vogue Runway) in 2000, fashion shows became less esoteric and more available to the curious public who could now access photos from the show after the fact. This season, VFILES is taking the democratization of fashion one step further by opening up the guest list of their Fall 2018 show to anyone who wants to attend. “I’m Australian and I remember seeing fashion shows in the mall and anyone could watch it. When I came to New York I couldn’t believe how locked away fashion shows were,” Julie Anne Quay, the founder of VFiles told WWD. “At VFiles, our mission is to connect and empower the youth, so it made logical sense for us to open the doors so that everyone can experience the event.” The show will take place at the Barclay’s Centre in Brooklyn on September 5th at 8pm. Tickets are available no longer available through Eventbrite. (Current status: sold out.) (WWD)

Jordyn Woods is Launching a Size-Inclusive Activewear Brand

Our new best friend, Jordyn Woods, is launching a size-inclusive, 24-piece activewear collection under moniker Scndnture (or, second nature). The brand will have a similar retail strategy to her best friend Kylie Jenner’s lip kits: the first pieces will be available online August 30th and future releases will drop every few months on no set schedule to build anticipation. “I made things people wouldn’t want to make for curvier girls, like fun cutouts. It’s really about owning who you are in these outfits and having fun. I want people to feel confident to own every part of their body and go out in that cutout,” the young star told WWD. Woods will celebrate her 21st birthday this upcoming September. (WWD)
