Volcom x Georgia May

Georgia May Jagger Takes the Rapid-Fire Question Challenge

Jagger was in town to unveil a fall capsule collection for Volcom.

“I’m a bit selfish, I design things that I want to wear,” says model Georgia May Jagger as we go through her latest capsule collection for Volcom Women, available exclusively at Simons in Toronto. Ranging from a black fitted denim dress, (her favourite) to a two-piece sequined outfit (she’s wearing the top) to jeans (she’s wearing the jeans too) and a cozy coat, these five looks were inspired by the day-to-night pace of our holiday season. It’s her sixth collection for Volcom, and Jagger continues to follow each item from inspiration to completion, which means, “fittings and trying stuff on.”

As we chatted in the ‘Green Room,’ of Simons’ Mississauga location at Square One, Jagger says she was drawn to working with Volcom because of its interest in sustainable fashion. The brand uses Econyl (a textile made from used fishing nets) in some of its swim collections. “They’re making efforts which I find really inspiring,” said Jagger who for her part tries to design things without trends in mind.

“I think you should buy things you’re going to wear again and again.” But when asked if that means she has a small wardrobe? “No,” she says with embarrassment, “I have a lot of clothes. I have a lot of pieces from my mom (former model Jerry Hall), but I’m trying to shop less.”

Wise words from Jagger, who also proved herself a good sport when answering our Rapid-Fire Questions. Check out the interview here and see the capsule collection below.
