This Birkin Bag Looks Like It’s Made out Of Prosciutto

Barbara Segal is a fine artist who carves luxury accessories out of marble. She has sculpted the covetable Hermès Birkin, Chanel 2.55 bags, Hermès boxes and leather jackets.  Birkin bags can run upwards of $300,000 and have waiting lists upwards of six years. The marble sculptures make an astute statement on both the value and cultural heft of luxury goods in Western society.

It also, as Toronto comedian Celeste Yim astutely pointed out, looks like someone fashioned a luxury bag from layers of prosciutto. The dark pink and white of the marble mimics exactly the texture and look of a fine Italian cured meat.

If only a real Birkin bag was this delicious.
