Balmain is Teaming Up With Victoria’s Secret for the 2017 VS Fashion Show
A match made in (VS Angel) heaven.
If you look at the models who frequent the Victoria’s Secret runway and those who are part of the #BalmainArmy, you’ll see it’s pretty much the same group of women. So it makes sense for the French fashion house to team up with the American lingerie giant for the sexiest fashion show of the year (or you could say, it’s a match made in VS Angel heaven).
On Wednesday, Victoria’s Secret announced an official collaboration with Balmain for the 2017 VS Fashion Show in Shanghai. Not only will Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing design looks for the fashion show, but there will also be a capsule collection available in stores and on the Victoria’s Secret website as of November 29, one day after the show airs on television. According to a press release, the collection “builds upon the house’s couture legacy while reflecting the way women want to dress today. And while designers have created looks for the VS runway before, according to Vogue, this marks the first time the lingerie brand has ever partnered with a high-fashion brand to create an exclusive collection sold in its stores.
Naturally, both Balmain and Victoria’s Secret’s social accounts are being flooded with promos and teasers, all tagged with #VSxBALMAIN. The first vid sees VS and Balmain faves, Romee Strijd, Sara Sampaio, Stella Maxwell and Jasmine Tookes sporting crystal-adorned Balmain garb overtop their VS lingerie.
A newly launched video gives an even better idea of the pieces that are set to walk down the runway. After all, what would the Balmain army be without the requisite spikes and studs.
Considering the success of Balmain’s last collaboration with H&M, we have a feeling this will be an instant sell-out. All you’ll need is your Balmain x L’Oreal Paris lipstick, and you, too can be a #VSxBALMAIN army member.
