TIFF 2019: Inside the Chanel & Variety Female Filmmaker Dinner

The Toronto International Film Festival isn’t just back-to-back film screenings. It’s also a whirlwind of dinners, cocktail parties, afterparties, after-afterparties—you get the picture. One of the hottest events on the calendar is the Female Filmmaker dinner hosted by Chanel and Variety, now in its second year. The private dinner honours women in film who have made a mark in the industry and is attended by some of the biggest names in the biz. Last year, the party saw the likes of Keira Knightley, Elizabeth Olsen and Sofia Boutella converging at Toronto’s La Banane restaurant, and this year the place was buzzing with Chanel ambassadors Kristen Stewart and Charlotte Cardin, and Hollywood A-listers like Priyanka Chopra, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley.
