And The Award For Most #Relatable Oscars Attendee Goes To…

These are the moments memes are made of!

These days, it’s very important to fans that their celebrities are honest, effortless, and totally #relatable. We want off-the-cuff food-cravings, candid alcohol consumption and TMI-fuelled anecdotes told on late night television. A clumsy misstep on the red carpet? Great! These are the Hollywood moments that are shared and re-shared on social media with the caption: “OMG *insert celebrity* is totally my spirit animal!”

The Academy Awards are the glitziest night for the most glamorous industry in the sparkly city of stars — but that doesn’t stop those of us watching from our couch from finding something to connect to. Whether it’s Chrissy Teigen sleeping in the audience or Jennifer Lawrence falling up the stairs, Hollywood never fails to make us feel like we’re just like them.

Which brings us to last night. Leave it to JLaw and Tiffany Haddish—a Chill It Girl vet and the brightest light of award season—to steal the show with their realness. With couture gowns and Meryl Streep hugs, they aren’t “just like us.” Not even close. But that won’t stop us from revelling in these tiny moments of Hollywood reltability.

Jennifer Lawrence climbs over chair, wine in hand

So I’ve never actually climbed over anything in a sequinned Dior Couture gown with a glass of wine in my hand — and you probably haven’t either. But as someone who has side-stepped over a chair because I was too lazy to shuffle to the end of the row, I can relate.

Tiffany Haddish jumps a rope to hug Meryl Streep

Because who amongst us wouldn’t hop a velvet rope in a traditional Eritrean gown, just to curtsy to the queen of Hollywood? I honestly don’t know if I would have the guts to do the same in this given situation, but can I still relate.

Jennifer Lawrence roasts her friend

Nobody burns better than a bff! As someone who often laughs at the expense of my loved ones, I can relate.

Tiffany Haddish wears UGG slippers on stage

“We are so happy to be here, but our feet hurt,” Haddish said, her stilettos in hand alongside co-presented Maya Rudolph. “I’ve been wearing these shoes since 11 this morning. How long you been wearing your shoes?”

“Since the Critics’ Choice Awards,” Rudolph deadpanned.

Audiences at home went crazy for this duo. And as someone who slips out of her sneakers and into her UGG slippers as soon as she walks in the door, I can relate.

Tiffany Haddish wears the same dress for the 3rd time

Did you recognize Haddish’s white gown? It happens to be the same one she wore at the Girls Trip premiere and again on Saturday Night Live.  Most starlets wouldn’t be caught repeating, much less three-peating any outfit, but the comedian makes a great point about wanting to get the most bang for her buck.  “This a Alexander McQueen, okay?” she said in her SNL opening monologue, “This a $4,000 dress. Imma wear this dress multiple time. I feel like if I pay good money for something, I wear it when I want, however many times I want, as long as I Febreze it.” As someone who has worn their prom dress to practically every formal event since 2012, I can most definitely relate.
