There are a lot of things about this teen suicide drama that have stirred controversy. Here’s just one of them: 13 Reasons Why covered all the events of Jay Asher’s celebrated YA novel in season one, and yet the show was signed on for a follow up season. Where does the series go after Hannah Baker’s final tape is played? According to show-runner Brian Yorkey, season 2 will not feature another suicide, but will continue to handle heavy subjects, such as sexual assault and gun violence.

Anon is set in a world without privacy, anonymity and, by extension, crime. Except, even when the technology is your eyeball, it can be hacked and manipulated. If the trailer is any indication, this movie is intense—and after watching it, you’ll probably be putting tape over your laptop webcam. From what we can glean, it’s pretty much a feature film length Black Mirror episode with A-List movie stars. (Hi Clive Owen and Amanda Seyfried!)
Dear White People (Vol. 2)
Quick! If you haven’t yet binged season one of this hit Netflix series, you have just three days to catch up. Dear White People follows a group of Winchester University students as they navigate a diverse landscape of social injustice, cultural bias, political correctness (or lack thereof) and the sometimes misguided “wokeness” of the millennial age. It’s a satirical looks at race and identity, leading viewers through tricky topics with lots of LOLs.
