THE STORY: Dreyfus revealed on Thursday that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The Emmy-winning Veep star made the announcement on Twitter, writing, “1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one. The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends,” she added. “The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let’s fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.”

But the outpouring of support for Dreyfus, from breast cancer survivor Christina Applegate to former IRL Veep Joe Biden, has warmed our cold sad hearts, and it’s inspiring to see the 56-year-old actress immediately shift the conversation to health care and cancer research. How many people find out their sick, and start talking about other sick people? That’s hella selfless.

A film that, apparently, is about “the fucking racism which is rising all around the world.” Akin goes on to defend her transformation tutorial, saying that she is “not living in America or Africa, so finding any black model is so difficult in here. I have never think that this is racist while i am doing this. I just try to see pure beauty behind the pain who have it.” It’s a pretty elaborate excuse — but blackface is never going to be excusable.

THE STORY: Belle Gibson gained fame in Australia after claiming to have beaten brain cancer using natural remedies and nutrition. It’s now been uncovered that the wellness blogger never actually had cancer, and she’s being fined A$410,000 for misleading her readers.
