4 of The Coolest Apple Updates We’re Looking Forward to This Fall
For the die-hard Apple fans out there, this one’s for you. On June 5th the tech giant held their annual WWDC development conference and announced every major update dropping in the coming months.
You can expect big changes across all devices and the introduction of some exciting new products that you didn’t know you needed – til now. Here are the highlights you need to know about from this year’s Apple event.
Introducing the HomePod
The HomePod is the newest addition to Apple’s lineup and is sure to become a game-changer in home sound systems. This wireless speaker is small but mighty (it’s only 7 inches tall) and was developed to help integrate Siri into your music listening experience. You can ask the HomePod questions like, “Hey Siri, who’s the drummer in this song?” or tell it to remember artists you like, turning your speaker into your own personal DJ. It also comes equipped with sensors that detect its position in a room, and can optimize sound to best suit the needs of the space. Guess it’s time to ditch those tiny Bluetooth speakers once and for all.
Step Up Your Fitness Regime With watchOS 4
If you’re looking to integrate fitness into your daily routine, the newest Apple Watch update is making it easier than ever to reach your #goals. Siri collects information based on your activity and delivers personalized coaching, whether you’re training for a marathon or just looking to get your 10,000 steps. The new OS also features an updated workout app called GymKit, which allows wearers to sync their cardio equipment at the gym directly to their Apple watch. Now you’ll know exactly how long to spend on the elliptical to burn off the extra calories in that donut.
New iPhone & iPad Features to Hack Your Life
iOS 11 is on its way and with it comes a slew of updates that will make using your iPhone or iPad even simpler. Some of the more noteworthy changes include the ability to send money to friends via text using Apple Pay and Messages, and automatic Do Not Disturb settings for the ultimate distraction-free driving experience. Other new features include a customizable Dock, a one-handed keyboard for texting-on-the-go and more advanced capabilities from Siri, who can now translate English phrases into Chinese, French, German, Italian or Spanish.
New and Improved Models Across the Board
The iMac, MacBook and MacBook Pro are receiving hardware upgrades for faster computing and better graphics, and they’ll all be running on the latest version of macOS, High Sierra. The iPad Pro is getting internal updates and will also be available in new 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch sizes, adding to the existing line of iPad and iPad mini models. The new products will be rolling out between June 7 and December 2017, so be sure to check out Apple’s website to get the lowdown on when to start lining up outside your nearest Apple store.
