11 Jewelled Headpieces To Buy Now Inspired by Charlize Theron’s SAG Awards Look

The SAG Awards red carpet brought a whole host of stellar fashion and beauty to our attention last night, but one star in particular stood out, thanks to a spectacularly unusual hair accessory. Charlize Theron, who was nominated for two SAG Awards, donned a diamond-encrusted Tiffany & Co. bracelet, not on her wrist, but laying flat across her hair’s centre part. “I didn’t have time to do my roots,” she candidly explained on the red carpet when asked about the statement look. It was the work of celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel – who had contingency plans in place for a time-crunch situation – who posted on Instagram that “shiny hair and diamonds can make anyone happy.”
A quick fix like this takes teamwork. Abergel called on a friend who is skilled at cornrows to craft a tiny plait running along the middle of Theron’s hair. Abergel then fastened the bracelet to her head by sewing the jewels onto the plait. A few more finishing touches and it looked as though the bracelet were a true headpiece. “First off, I saw her incredible Givenchy gown, and it reminded me of the 1920s, so my brain immediately wanted to give her short haircut a new twist,” he told Refinery29 US. With no time to fix her roots, the diamond bracelet was just the thing.
