The Fashion Brands Offering Free Concerts on Instagram Live This Weekend

Add a little fashion crowd-approved fun to your weekend.

As we continue to navigate our way through our new reality due to the COVID-19 pandemic, fashion brands are starting to come up with new ways to engage their consumers that doesn’t involve shopping. Case in point: Two global brands are holding free concerts via Instagram Live this weekend to help bring a little fun to your Saturday and Sunday. Here’s where you’ll find some great tunes this weekend:

#AldoNightsIn

On Saturday, April 4, Canadian footwear brand ALDO is kicking off its #AldoNightsIn series. This week, emerging Montreal-based artist DJ Mansa will take the virtual stage from 8pm EST, spinning a range of tracks that are certain to get you up off the couch and dancing. According to her bio, DJ Mansa “is drawn to African music, Afrohouse, Funk Caricoa, Afrobeats and everything that features a lot of percussion.” The brand says the dress code is ‘party shoes’ so pull on your favourite footwear and get ready to dance.

Mulberry’s ‘My Local’ Series

Beginning on Sunday, April 5, Mulberry is launching a new series of free concerts and in-conversation moments as part of its new ‘My Local’ series. The series is the new digital iteration of the global concerts that the brand hosted last year in London, Tokyo, Seoul, Sydney and New York. Each week, there’ll be performances by musicians, poets and artists livestreamed through Instagram Live on the brand’s channel. Alan Power will kick things off this week, with Joy Crookes, Arlo Parks and Austin Williams confirmed for upcoming shows, with new artists announced each week. The series is part of the Take Root, Branch Out initiative which seeks to connect people globally as they are in isolation. The gigs are free to join, however the brand is encouraging participants to make a donation to its Coronavirus Appeal in partnership with the National Emergency Trust to support communities in need at this time.

The Sound of Chanel

Though not technically a concert, you can soundtrack your weekend with a Chanel runway show playlist courtesy of the brand’s dedicated channel on Apple Music. Called ‘The Sound of Chanel’, the channel is home to a bunch of curated playlists featuring music from the brand’s runway shows, as well as exclusive playlists built by brand ambassadors including Pharrell Williams and Caroline de Maigret.
